Desert Hot Springs’ resident Liliana has been a participant in Angel View’s Outreach program for more than seven years. She credits the program for much of her successes with her daughter, Carmen, who has been diagnosed with a rare disease. “We travel long distances to obtain services to support her needs and the mileage (reimbursement program) is so helpful to us,” she said.
Juana’s youngest son was born with Down syndrome and at age two, Juana looked for extra help through Angel View. Since then, both have grown in knowledge and confidence. With Alan now starting school, he’s blossomed into a bright youngster and his Mom stresses that Angel View services helped lead the way. “From the day I called, it’s been great for me, my child, and my family,” she said. “It’s been a lot of support.”
With two children diagnosed with autism, Soraya’s journey to Angel View began by talking with another parent at speech therapy. Both children have benefitted by the program while Soraya has learned to advocate for her children more effectively and navigate the support systems needed for their future. “Angel View helped me understand and learn the rights for my son,” she said. “They gave me information to prepare me for meetings with the school. They provided support – and information.”
